The focus of our Educational Study Visit was to focus specifically in the Early Years as these years are so important in terms of our children making their first start on the education journey.
There was a strong emphasis in Italy on developing children’s creative expression in even more detail. The approach was developed by an Italian Infant Teacher (after World War II) called Loris Malaguzzi. He wanted the next generation of children to have the confidence, ability to express themselves fully and use all their skills and talents recognising ultimately that EVERYONE has gifts!
Great ideas/ strategies/ practices were observed on the visit ……keep a wee eye out for some international perspectives in St. Catherine’s in the future!! No matter how excellently we deliver our education service in St Catherine’s , we are always open to ideas gained from other approaches!
