Our school has been working in partnership with Sustrans to increase our Active Travel journeys. In conjunction with Ronan McLaughlin, (Active Travel officer) we achieved the Bronze Award for Active
Travel. Active Travel is walking, cycling or scooting to school. All pupils have worked hard on this
programme and it was a great team effort to win this award. Some of the activities which we carried
out as part of this award include Walk, Cycle and Scoot events, The Big Pedal and The Daily Mile.
Our Eco Team conducted a Big Street Survey in order to determine safer routes to school for all pupils.
We are all so proud of our achievements and excited for what lies ahead for Active Travel in St. Catherine’s Primary School. A special thanks to Miss Keyes who coordinated the work that led to the success and achievement of this lovely award.
