- Reading with child
- Libraries NI: Encourage your child to read for pleasure and more widely from fiction and non-fiction genres. Listen to your child read and talk about what she has read. Make use of the local library and the Overdrive app https://app.overdrive.com/. Digital books and audiobooks can be downloaded for free at www.librariesni.org.uk. (It provides fun and enjoyable activities for children right up to teens. There is recommended reads, find a story, find a reading group, e-books, e magazines, audio books, rhythm and rhyme sessions)
- Wordshark : Wordshark is a powerful tool for school and home use combining the excitement of over 60 games in reading and spelling. You need to visit https://onwordshark.com/eani/login using Google Chrome and enter your unique username and password to gain access.
- EA Literacy Service website: https://www.eani.org.uk/services/pupil-support-services/literacy-service Documents developed by the EA Literacy Service (Northern Ireland) intended for parents/carers who may be supporting a child or young person with literacy difficulties at home. Parents/carers may find some of these ideas useful. It is a range of good practice ideas and activities you may decide to use based on the needs of the child.
