It has once again been a very different and challenging year for our Year 7  children, who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.The Diocesan Catechetical Centre has put together a programme to support parents, schools and parishes as they prepare the children in this very important stage of their faith journey.

Preparation Programme

 The Programme will consist of four sessions 

• Four sessions, 10am -12 am on the catecheticalcentre.org/webcam/ 17^th, 18^th, 19^th and 20th May. Each day the sessions will include catechesis on different aspects of the Sacrament of Confirmation, prayer, creative activities and music.

Catechetical Focus

1. The Sacraments of Initiation- Whom Shall I Send? Called by God to proclaim the Good News, strengthened by the gift of the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation
2. What is the Spirit of God like?-Jesus, a Spirit filled life; symbols of the Holy Spirit; the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit; Story of Pentecost.
3. Celebrating the Confirmation Ceremony- Why do we havea Confirmation Name; Role of the Confirmation Sponsor; Anointing with Oil; Laying on of Hands
4. Called to be Saints-Building up God’s Church filled with the Holy Spirit; Living the Beatitudes; Discovering God’s Plan for my life.
