We feel it is crucial to celebrate the joys of Reading and Literature by having our book week. This year Book Week will take place Week Beginning Monday 2nd October . There will be various activities all week with an emphasis on Reading. Finally on the Friday of that week children will have their Book Character Day. Every child should come to school dressed up as a book character under these themes.
Nursery / Year 1 / Year 2 : Nursery Rhyme Characters
Year 3 / Year 4 : Fairytale Characters
Year 5/ Year 6 / Year 7 : Characters from NovelsBook Character Day will be on Friday 6th October! This is always a great fun day for our pupils!
WE thank our parents in advance for all the effort that they put into dressing their children for this very special day. You are all so dedicated and just fab!!We will also have a Book Fair in school on Book Week. At the Book Fair there are lots of books and stationery accessories for our children to buy and enjoy to promote a love of reading. Please come along with your child to browse around the Book Fair and see if anything appeals to you! If you cannot attend the Book Fair with your child you can send money in to school with them and the class teacher will be only too happy to take the child to the Book Fair to buy a wee book! Book Fair will be open from 2.15pm-3.45pm on the Junior School Site and from 3pm-3.45pm on the Senior School Site. Nursery Parents can also view the Book Fair on the Senior Site just after they collect their children if they wish!
